Selection notes for wells and reservoirs
For wells, calculate the measuring range from the maximum water column rather than the total cable length. Static water level, pumping drawdown, lowest operating level and installation allowance should all be reviewed before choosing the pressure range.
Cable routing is part of the instrument selection. Outdoor wells may need a sealed junction box, vent-tube protection, strain relief, lightning or surge protection and enough cable length to reach the panel without tension.
Narrow boreholes may require small-diameter probes, while harsh installations may need armored cable or mechanical protection. If water quality includes salinity, chemicals, sediment or biological buildup, share those details so wetted material and diaphragm style can be checked.
Reservoirs can use hydrostatic probes, water-level radar or telemetry packages depending on mounting structure, wave condition, debris, access for maintenance and power availability. Non-contact radar is useful when a submerged cable is difficult to protect.
For RFQ, send well depth, casing diameter, static and minimum water levels, reservoir mounting photos, cable path, power supply, required output, telemetry needs and whether a display/controller or pump alarm is needed.
