How to specify custom level solutions.
What counts as a custom level solution?
Custom level solutions are configuration packages, not open-ended promises. The goal is to keep the measurement principle technically correct while adapting range, process connection, wetted material, output, display, relay logic, documentation and branding to the project.
Typical requests include display/controller packages for 4-20 mA, RS-485 or switch inputs; OEM nameplates and document formats for distributors; configured radar, ultrasonic or hydrostatic ranges; and magnetic gauge packages with switches or continuous transmitters.
3D silo inventory scanning belongs in this category when a buyer needs stock estimation over an uneven bulk-solid surface. It is not necessary for every silo: a center-point radar, rotary paddle switch or air-purge radar may be enough when the project only needs one level value or one alarm point.
OEM and ODM work should define what is actually customized: label, housing option, cable length, process connection, measuring range, output signal, manual, packing, certificates or calibration records. Safety approvals and measurement limits cannot be invented by relabeling a product.
For RFQ, send target application, medium, tank or silo drawing, required sensor family, output signal, power supply, enclosure requirement, branding files, document package, expected annual demand and any old instrument photos or datasheets.
