Hydrostatic and pressure-based level transmitters convert liquid head pressure into a continuous level signal. They are practical for wells, reservoirs, water tanks, wastewater pits and process tanks when the liquid density is known and a probe or pressure connection can be installed.
For submersible probes, separate the measuring range from the cable length. The range is based on the maximum liquid column, while cable length must also cover suspension depth, routing to the junction box and installation allowance. Vented cable, junction-box sealing and surge protection should be reviewed for outdoor wells.
For wastewater, sludge, corrosive liquid or viscous media, the probe construction matters as much as the pressure range. Check diaphragm material, cable sheath, protection nose, anti-clog design and whether a flush diaphragm or anti-corrosion body is more suitable than a standard water probe.
For closed or pressurized tanks, differential pressure or remote-seal transmitters may be more appropriate than a suspended probe. Density, zero elevation, capillary length, process temperature and pressure must be checked before a model is quoted.
For RFQ, send liquid name, density, measuring height, well or tank drawing, cable length, process connection, temperature, pressure, output signal, power supply, material requirement and whether a local display or controller is needed.
